The scenic flight into Horsfeld sets the stage for your eleven days of adventure. We'll put you up in 'Gold Rush era' tent cabins, after relaxing and getting acquainted with our free-ranging horses, you'll end the day with a gourmet dinner around the campfire and a sauna on the creek. The next day we'll gather the pack string and saddle horses and head out for an unforgettable three day ride. Crossing alpine passes and mountain streams, we'll end up at the headwaters of the White river. The next three days will find us exploring on horseback and foot the spectacular terminus of the Russell Glacier and surrounding alpine valleys. Those who wish to challenge themselves can spend a long day climbing the snow capped 10,900 ft. Mt. Sulzer.
For our final adventure we'll begin by picking up our rafts, gear and fresh provisions that have been dropped by bush aircraft on a nearby gravel bar. We'll spend three days experiencing the changing geology, spectacular vistas, canyons and wild nature of the seldom paddled White River. On day eleven we'll be met and transported to Fairbanks via the historic Al-Can Highway.

July 29- August 6, 9 Days@ $300.00 per day plus $400.00 charter flying
Take a trip through time as we trace
the original Gold Rush route from the
Copper River Drainage to the gold fields
of the Klondike. Starting from McCarthy
with a short spectacular bush flight
to Glacier Creek, we begin our hike up
the Chitistone River Valley, over the
historic Goat Trail to Skolai Pass, down

On a gravel bar at the terminus of the
glacier we pick up rafts and fresh provisions,
dropped by bush aircraft, for a four
day float trip down the White River from
its headwaters to the Alaska Highway.

Kamp Karkaju (
karkaju: Athabaskan for wolverine)
Send your young man of the house on
his "walk-about" with us, where dignity
through mentoring is a goal. We'll take
four young men, 13 - 16 years old, and
introduce them to Alaskan wilderness
skills. Fishing, camp craft, orienteering,
outdoor cooking, working with hand tools,
riding, packing and caring for horses
are all part of the adventure as we camp
and hike with horses in the Alaskan Outback
of Horsfeld. As Guy Clark said, "The
old man taught me how to spit, whittle,
cuss, sit up straight and hold a tune."
Included : Transportation
from Fairbanks to the pick up point and
return. Accomodations, camping gear,
food, first aid, communications, pack
horses and experienced guides.
Need to bring : Comfortable
boots and back pack. Personal gear, sleeping
bag and pad.
